Auwalu Abdullahi Rano OON, commonly referred to as AA Rano, is a Nigerian businessman born on February 7, 1974.
He is the founder of AA Rano Nigeria Limited, a company with interests in diverse sectors such as oil and gas, airlines, and agriculture.
Early life and Education 
Rano was born in Lausu town in the Rano Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria, and he belongs to the Hausa-Fulani ethnic group. His entrepreneurial journey commenced with the sale of ice blocks, groundnut oil, and various other local items.
Career
RANO Oil stands as a prominent figure in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, boasting a 60 million tank farm in Lagos and a network of 120 retail outlets/filling stations nationwide. Additionally, it operates over 600 trucks, LPG terminals, and acquired a vessel, M.T LAUSAU, in 2014. Offering jetty services to depot owners and a range of services to oil marketers, RANO Nigeria Limited focuses on wholesale and retail of petroleum products. Under the umbrella of Rank Industries, RANO Air, founded in 2019, has gained approval for domestic flights connecting major cities. Meanwhile, RANO GAZ, a subsidiary of AA Industries, has expanded its LPG business with modern filling plants. Rano Rice Mills, established in 2021, contributes to food security with a rice milling capacity of 60,000MT annually. RANO LPG, another AA Industries subsidiary, emphasizes automated LPG filling plants. Lastly, RANO Lubricants produces quality base, industrial, and engine oils, catering to various vehicles and machinery.
