Bron Breakker is an American professional wrestler and former football player. He is currently signed with WWE, competing on the Raw brand.
Before joining Raw, he wrestled on the NXT brand, where he achieved significant success as a two-time NXT Champion and a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion.
Early life and Education
Bronson Rechsteiner was born on October 24, 1997, in Woodstock, Georgia. He attended Etowah High School, excelling in both football and wrestling, and won the Georgia Class AAAAAA state wrestling championship in 2016. Rechsteiner studied criminal justice at Kennesaw State University, where he played football for the Kennesaw State Owls, transitioning from special teams and defense to running back. Despite entering the 2020 NFL Draft, he was not drafted but was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent, though he was released later that year.
Career
Rechsteiner made his professional wrestling debut on October 8, 2020, at an AWF/WOW event. In February 2021, he signed with WWE and began training at the WWE Performance Center. Initially appearing in minor roles, he debuted on NXT on September 14, 2021, under the ring name Bron Breakker, quickly rising to prominence by winning the NXT Championship twice.
Throughout 2022 and 2023, Breakker defended his title against various challengers, including Santos Escobar, Joe Gacy, Cameron Grimes, and JD McDonagh. He also participated in several main roster events and was involved in a significant heel turn in April 2023.
In early 2024, Breakker teamed with Baron Corbin in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, winning the tournament and later the NXT Tag Team Championship. He made his Royal Rumble debut and was eventually drafted to the Raw brand in April 2024.
Personal life
As a second-generation wrestler, he is the son of Rick Steiner and the nephew of Scott Steiner, known collectively as the Steiner Brothers. In 2022, Rechsteiner was honored as “Rookie of the Year” by readers of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Bronson Rechsteiner appeared as a playable character in the 2020 video game Madden NFL 21 as a fullback for the Baltimore Ravens. Under his wrestling persona, Bron Breakker, he was also featured as a playable character in the 2023 video game WWE 2K23 and the 2024 video game WWE 2K24.
