Watson embarked on his professional acting journey in 2010 with “Labour of Love,” followed by a supporting role in the African war film “Somewhere in Africa” later that year, recommended by his co-star Majid Michel. He garnered a nomination at the Nollywood & African Films Critics Awards (NAFCA) for his performance in “Somewhere in Africa.”
In subsequent years, Watson appeared in various films such as “A Reason to Kill” and “Single Six” in 2011, marking his entry into Nollywood with “Desperate Heart” alongside Queen Nwokoye. His roles in movies like “Single and Married” (2012), “House of Gold,” “Letters to My Mother,” and “Purple Rose” (2013) solidified his status as a prominent figure in African entertainment.
The year 2014 proved both challenging and rewarding for Watson as he tackled the Ebola crisis by writing, producing, and directing the short film “Ebola,” amid the outbreak in West Africa and his home country, Liberia. He received multiple nominations for his roles in various films that year and clinched the Ghana Movie Award for Best Short Film for “Ebola.” Additionally, he produced two major movies, “Jack & Jill” and “She Prayed,” the latter premiering in Sierra Leone in December 2015 to widespread acclaim.

Eddie Watson tied the knot with his partner, actress Naomi Baaba Watson, after two years of courtship, in a private ceremony. Their joy expanded with the arrival of their first child, Emirror (Emi) Cassia Watson, on February 2, 2015. However, amidst these milestones, Watson also shared the passing of his mother, Leonora Caulker, on May 27, 2021, through his Instagram page.
