Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere (born September 9, 1982), widely recognized as Odùméje, is a Nigerian pastor and the leader of The Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry.
He is also known for his work as a musician.
Early life and Education
Odùméje was born in Anambra State, Nigeria, as the third of six children to Mr. and Mrs. Pius Ohanaemere. Growing up, he faced significant financial challenges and worked hard to make ends meet. Before fully committing to ministry, he worked as a leather designer on the bustling streets of Onitsha, Anambra State. He completed his primary education at Nweje and attended Providence Secondary School for his secondary education. Although he wanted to pursue further education, financial difficulties led him to apprentice in the leather business.
CareerOdùméje’s unconventional healing methods earned him the nickname “The Wrestling Pastor.” He was involved in a public feud with a former female associate, Ada Jesus, who accused him of being a false prophet and staging miracles. In response to being labeled a “money-inclined showmaker,” he dismissed his critics as mere noisemakers.
In March 2022, his church building was identified as obstructing drainage channels in Okpoko, Onitsha, leading to a partial demolition order by the Anambra State government. Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo had pledged to clear these channels to prevent flooding. During the demolition operation, Odùméje was reportedly manhandled by government officials when he attempted to stop them. Governor Soludo responded by promising disciplinary action against those who mistreated Odùméje and warned that the pastor would have to bear the demolition costs, as he had been given prior notice.
