Teniola Apata MON, professionally recognized as Teni or Teni The Entertainer, is a Nigerian vocalist, lyricist, and performer.
Early life and Education
Teni was born on December 23, 1993, in Lagos State. She attended Apata Memorial High School and later pursued her education at the University of Georgia, ultimately completing her degree in business administration at American InterContinental University.
CareerFrom 2016 to 2019, Teni embarked on a musical journey, releasing her debut single “Amen” under Shizzi’s Magic Fingers Records before transitioning to Dr. Dolor Entertainment in 2017. Notable releases during this period include “Fargin,” “Askamaya,” “Case,” and “Uyo Meyo,” all of which contributed to her rising prominence. “Askamaya” even secured a spot on MTV Base’s Top 20 Hottest Naija Tracks of 2018. In 2019, she gained further recognition, featuring as YouTube Music’s Trending Artist on the Rise and dropping the singles “Sugar Mummy” and “Power Rangers.”
In October 2019, Teni released her debut EP titled “Billionaire,” comprising six tracks produced by Jaysynths Beatz and Pheelz. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020, she collaborated with DJ Neptune on the “Quarantine Playlist,” a four-track EP reflecting on the challenges of lockdown life.
Transitioning into 2021, Teni announced her debut album, “WONDALAND,” set for release in March. Crafted over two years in various cities, including London, New York City, and Lagos, the album showcases Teni’s musical evolution. Production credits feature a range of talents, including Pheelz, Damayo, Tempoe, P.Prime, Millamix, Krizbeatz, and Ozedikus.
